Larry Johnson Recreation Center
DALLAS, TEXAS
14,000 s.f. new construction of a recreational facility.

Basketball player and hometown hero Larry Johnson provided a generous contribution to
the Dallas Parks and Recreation Department to build a new recreation center in the Fair
Park area of Dallas. Johnson McKibben Architects was the architect of record, and
Azimuth performed design and construction documentation. The partnership led to a
successful center providing the surrounding neighborhood a community gathering place
that is functional as well as exciting in design.

Done under a tight budget, we combined cost-effective, durable construction methodology
with dramatic design and produced a facility that stands as one of Dallas Parks’ finest.
We are proud of our association with this project, and we are pleased with the positive
response from the community.
